Code of Conduct

Introduction

Welcome to the Data Community Conference! Our event is dedicated to creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for everyone involved, including speakers, attendees, partners, media, and staff. This Code of Conduct outlines our expectations for participant behavior as well as the consequences for unacceptable behavior.

 

Expected Behavior

  • Respect the diversity of perspectives and experiences of others.
  • Be considerate in your communication and actions.
  • Refrain from demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing behavior and speech.
  • Be mindful of your surroundings and your fellow participants.

 

Unacceptable Behavior

Unacceptable behaviors include but are not limited to:

  • Intimidating, harassing, abusive, discriminatory, derogatory, or demeaning conduct.
  • Offensive verbal comments related to gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, disability.
  • Inappropriate use of nudity, sexual images, and/or sexually explicit language.
  • Unwelcome physical contact or unwelcome sexual attention.
  • Sustained disruption of talks or other events.

 

Consequences of Unacceptable Behavior

Unacceptable behavior will not be tolerated. Anyone asked to stop unacceptable behavior is expected to comply immediately. If a participant engages in unacceptable behavior, the conference organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, up to and including expulsion from the conference without warning or refund.

 

Reporting an Incident

If you are subject to or witness unacceptable behavior, or have any other concerns, please notify a conference staff member as soon as possible. All reports are treated seriously and responded to promptly.

 

Scope

This Code of Conduct applies to all participants at the conference, including but not limited to speakers, attendees, partners, media, and staff, in all conference venues and conference-related social events.
